Healing for Hurting People

The question is often asked “Why do bad things happen to good people?” Did God build inside of each of us, the ability to experience hurt? What is the purpose of pain and suffering? We might even throw into that equation “disappointment” because disappointment often brings hurt and pain.

As we look back over our lives (whether young or old) we can recall good times and bad times…hurting times and pleasant times., but it seems that the painful, hurting and disappointing times stand out in our lives to the greatest degree.

Can we find help and comfort in the Holy Scriptures during these difficult times? Proverbs 3:5-6 reads “Trust in the Lord with all your heart: and lean not unto your own understand-ing.
In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.

Could it be that our Creator placed inside of us, a missing link that only He could fill? Could it be that our Creator desired that we will be eternally connected to Him for our very existence?

Trusting in God. our Creator, for guidance and direction will keep us on life’s straight paths. Opposition, temptations, pain, suffering and disappointments will often make their appearances. But if we keep our eyes fixed on God and allow Him to whisper loving directions and comfort into our spirit, then we can be assured, as Psalm 23:4 reads “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

So whenever negative forces seem to invade your life, you can be assured of God’s love, comfort, guidance and direction. He is only a prayer away.

Let us pray:

Dear God, I’m hurting real bad right now, in mind, body and spirit. I pray to you this day, believing that You and only You can bring the kind of comfort and peace that I need. I thank You, that You are ever present and the author of answered prayer. Amen.
